How to update\change release description in Jira via script\Rest Endpoint?

We have a custom button that we have added via Script Fragments (Scriptrunner) for Releases pages in Jira.



We want to update the Description field for Releases with this button.

How can we do this? Using some script \ Rest endpoint or something?

Could you please advise.
