How to unpack the firmware of a Huawei router?
Hello!
There is a Huawei HG520c wireless router. There is an updated firmware file for it from the provider (in which they hid some AP settings, etc.). As I understand it, there is some kind of web UI inside to manage the router settings. It is required to extract it from there, edit it and pack it back. Advise software please. And is it really possible to check this?

The manufacturer of the modem software gives the provider most likely. Well, Pic BIN editor or busybox googled.

most likely the platform is the same (broadcom)
The link that you gave contains a patch for the firmware that is already installed.
ipswitch wrote above a link to another firmware (Firmware for Huawei HG520 V300R001B01D082) - it is more suitable for unpacking because it contains squashFS with a broadcom header attached
(there is a “sqsh” header)
Perhaps if you unpack these FS, you will find some applications for updates that read the upgrad files you posted...
Another option is to open the box and write off the name of the chipset. after searching the internet for similar devices. perhaps firmware for it is just a modification of the manufacturer's software for a specific manufacturer of boxes ...
take a look at the firmware file that is there
if the eye is sharp, then it is often possible to determine in the hex viewer what kind of data is there
