How to turn off sound notifications for new emails in Gmail?

Sorry for the stupid question, but suddenly Gmail began to delicately notify me of new emails with a beep. I can’t turn it off anywhere, I’ve already broken my whole brain.

I use Mac OS X 10.7.2, Chrome browser. Apple Mail is not running at all. Chrome does not have any extensions.

Same crap, I can't get over it either. Such a stupid "ding", as if they hit the metal.
