In PHPStorm 2020.3, when opening a file from Remote Host, the tab becomes pinned. How to change this behavior?

This is an issue with the latest update, see ticket WI-55870 for details .
Already fixed and should be available in the next release, but for now you can roll back to the previous version if you are not at all comfortable working with this behavior now.
