How to transfer apk file icon from android device to pc via usb (adb or something similar)?

I am writing software to manage an android device from a PC (application / file manager, nothing supernatural). Interested in how you can get the icon of the apk application. I did not find anything worthwhile on this topic in the search engines (only how to do it from another apk ). And only draining the application on a PC and unpacking the archive comes to mind, which is far from the best option for obvious reasons.
