if server Windows, then it would be more correct to migrate roles to a bare OS. I would not recommend using crutches with installing vdi on real hardware, since it can take much longer ..
Can be done using WDS (Windows Deployment Services).
But you need a skill in server Windows or a lot of time to start this service.
From / to VMWare migrated as from a hardware computer to a computer: booted from a disk or ISO image of Acronis from UniversalRestore, made a system image, deployed the system on a hardware or virtual disk.
It is possible through WDS. Need a 3rd party with Windows server 2008 and WDS. Pack the image into it and deploy it where necessary.
You can use standard Windows tools (control panel / backup and restore) to backup the system and deploy it to a freshly installed OS.
There is also ImageX and Acronis Proffesional software (I haven’t tried it myself).
It is not necessary to use WDS. After preparing the image (the built-in sysprep program), you can remove the image and upload it to a new computer with anything. Only sysprep resets many settings to "default" which is not always suitable.
Alternative systems - there is a chance that the system will not rise (it will fall into a blue screen during loading).
