How to transfer a file to a virtual machine from an ESXi host?

There is an esxi 5.1upd2 host with ssh open outside and one external ip. Is it possible to somehow connect to the host via ssh and transfer the file to the virtual machine on this host? Or in some way at all? It turns out that virtual machines are not visible at all from the host side of the network, and I don’t understand how to get through to them ..
