How to transfer a couple of dozen sites to their owners?

I am a full stack php developer, I have been working for a long time, following the recommendations. There is enough work, but I wanted something new. And then I realized that you can’t just pick up and leave. Many domains are registered to me, DNS and mail in Yandex Connect, a couple of dozen sites are hosted on my DigitalOcean server, there is an up-to-date version of Ubuntu server, nginx, let's encrypt, everything is via the console, on webpack frontends, all updates are on bash scripts, everything works and does not soar ... me. But how can this be responsibly conveyed to the owners now so that they do not become discouraged? Distribute by hosting, change domain owners? Does anyone have similar experience? Articles, maybe there are interesting on this topic?

Well, basically the transmission consists of:

  1. writing documentation
  2. transfer of documentation and access
  3. deleting your access

In any case, it is worth writing documentation: about where what is located, under what accounts, on what servers, where and what repository, how ci / cd happens (even if it happens by hand). If possible, then it is worth building a simple ci / cd in your repository (there is usually a free usage level).
Personally, I already lead all my confluence projects. Fortunately, for personal needs it is free, if you do not go too far. If you don’t feel like it, then simple documents in Word will also be enough.
It is very important not only to throw documentation and accesses in the face of a person, but also to check that he understood and he has no questions. For example, you can have one Skype session with an extended screen. It's also important to close the conversation. That is, to warn that you are burning bridges and do not plan to engage in support. This is a very important step, which, if forgotten, will haunt the ghosts of the past for a very long time.

Write to the owners that you are retiring in order to find a solution that will suit both parties, everyone can have their own opinion, someone does not need a site, someone has an admin who will take care of it.

What other articles do you stupidly take and pass?
Hire admins, anyone can buy hosting now

If you pay for support, then you can find a new admin / company, and transfer everything to her.
Otherwise, it's really a headache to distribute one site to non-technical people.

The transfer of domains is usually a paid thing, a domain cannot simply be transferred to another physicist or lawyer.
