How to track versions of your product on different servers?

There is a product deployed under tomcat, which can tell in different ways what version it is (HTTP GET/JSON/file).
For testing, various versions of the product are laid out on test servers. You need a system with a web interface that shows which server has which version of the product. It would be desirable if the system showed whether the server and the product are alive.
