How to track project time?

Greetings. Surely most freelancers have an hourly rate at which he works. I'm wondering how you track the real time of work? Do you use any software (if yes, please advise which one under wondows)? Or do you set the price by estimating the lead time by eye? What exactly do you consider work time? Does the time spent communicating with the client count? In general, if not difficult, share your experience. Also interesting are the ways how to report to the client about the time, that is, you can get some kind of report from the programs ...

One of my clients asked me to use toggl.com - I liked the service, it's very convenient to keep track of projects.

To oDesk via oDesk Team.
Outside of Odessa, I just record the time of work and put it in Google Docs, according to which I am paid.

There are many mobile applications for this, such as aTimeLogger, Gleeo Time Tracker, etc.
