How to trace the user's full path in Google Analyticscs or another service?
Faced with the need to track the full path of the user:
- the keyword with which the user came from the search
- the full referral link if the user came as a referral
- track the moment of registration
- log all user actions on the site
Main problems:
- previous sessions are not tied to user_id after registration, those. if the user came for the first time in a different session - the search query is not tracked - the
analytics truncates the link parameters and it is often impossible to establish the exact source when moving from another site
- in general, there is no normal interface for displaying analytics with reference to a specific user on our site
What are the solutions to this problem? Maybe third-party analytics services? But will they know the search queries?
Answer the question
In order to leave comments, you need to log in
1) custom variables and measuremet protocol via cookies
2) full referrers add + remember that more and more httpS i.e. there will be no details + parameters in the URL on controlled sites
3) look at Gemius, but also not a panacea
search queries come from referrers, so everyone "knows" them
