How to test site UI changes with A/B testing?

I'm starting to get into testing. A banal task to start with. Test the change in conversion when changing some elements on the site (to begin with, one by one). How to do it?
I want to implement this for a start with the help of Google Experiments. The question arose - how best to make the second (modified) version of the page - a different address or through get-parameters? Or else how?
And advise articles on this topic, thanks.

Dude, throw this marketing rut about a / b tests and conversion out of your head if you want to bring real benefits to people.
All these buzzwords are when people didn’t have a job, but they wanted dough - they invented them, and now, like a knife, butter gets into their workplaces, where they don’t produce anything except show-offs.
A / B testing is the so-called - this is about how many people will buy depending on one or another element on the site. It is clear that A / B testing is easier to say, but in general, the bazaar is simpler, when questions, I beg you, and so there are few ordinary people left, and everyone pretends that they do not understand why the crisis.
In general, the essence is this - in order to make tests - you essentially do not need third-party platforms such as Google or Yandex. It's just easier to keep statistics with them.
Your programmer simply puts a condition on the site:
1. if the time is from 8 am to 8 pm - show one view, otherwise another view
2. some utm_ label for the same Yandex hangs on the buttons or the fact of pressing by the programmer himself is banal written in any storage - base, file, whatever you want
Then you take these files and read - who does what and when.
Ideally, of course, Yandex has already conducted this study and found that the following factors influence people:
a) mood - in a very bad or very good mood, he is ready for those things that he is not ready for in neutral, becausewhen he is in a bad mood, he gives everything he has out of desperation, and when he is in a good mood, out of generosity. In neutral, he usually considers his moves, which often causes him to give up on things he doesn't need. And if you think about it, then he needs to eat, sleep and have sex. The rest is not. Therefore, they try their best to breed emotions - because this is "for money."
b) age - a person changes with age, changes so that psychologists do not tryndeli, an adult understands that they fuck everything and always, although there are some people who are so-called. "just live" and are kept at a 90% discount like children
c) time - sliders work better during the day, photos in the evening, vidos at night. Why? During the day, the dude surfs at work, in the evening before leaving work he quickly scans his eyes, and at night he sticks videos with sound.Yes, it is sound that sells in vidos.
d) hobbies - intelligent programmers will never buy software, knowing that there is tor and torrents. But it will be bought with tenderness and for a sweet soul by the boss, who is hooked on a point, because Microsoft once again sent him a paper that "soon we will come and sue you." There are whole plugins that link the entire history of visiting social networks to the user, hence the incognito mode is becoming so popular these days, even though you know everything about you, but no one wants to ask, why the hell are you.
This is how it works somehow.
