How to temporarily change the computer ID?
Perhaps I initially incorrectly asked the question, I'm sorry, please.
There is a VAIO laptop with standard PMB Plugin software . This software allows you to quickly make very successful BDs from a family video archive (filmed on a SONY camera and only, really).
The problem is that this software can only be installed on a SONY computer. The installer is InstallShield, if that matters.
I want to install this PMB Plugin on my desktop computer, but since it is not SONY, the installation is interrupted by the corresponding message, and that's it.
I suspect that the manufacturer ID is hardwired somewhere in the BIOS. When Vista first came out, the internet was littered with bogus BIOSes for activation by OEM certificates and keys. Certificates and keys are not needed, and the pseudo-BIOS from VAIO is probably exactly what I need in this case.
Perhaps there is a more elegant way. Help me please. I would be very grateful.
At worst, a free installer with the ability to setup capture will do.
