How to sync gmail contacts (without using google+) from Android (Huawei X1)?
It is not possible to synchronize contacts stored in an account located on a custom domain managed by Google Apps.
The subscription is free, from the days when up to 10 users within a domain did not require payment.
Android only offers to sync certain G+ contacts , but this service does not connect to a domain under the terms of a free Google Apps subscription. And not a word about ordinary contacts.
Do I understand correctly that google no longer allows free users to sync contacts?
Connecting contacts via the exchange protocol does not work.
Or is it that I don’t know how to use android and everything is much simpler?
Now I see the only option to get contacts on the device:
1. Set up synchronization of contacts between work and home accounts on an iOS device
2. All contacts will be consolidated and synchronized there,
3. On x1, synchronize Google+ contacts from your home account. which should appear there.
But this is a perversion.

As it turned out, it was enough to google and install GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.apk
By default, this package is not included in the delivery, so there are problems :)
Everything works on my free Google Apps domains. Both on Android and on iOS. On Android, it starts working by itself, G + has nothing to do with contacts, though I don’t know about Huawei. On iOS, you can set up contact synchronization through the CardDAV interface. On Android, I can assume to look at the settings of a specific account in the Google Apps interface and in the whole domain, for accessibility from mobile devices
