How to "switch" Upwork commission from 20% to 10%?

Good day. Ask such a question. I know that when working with new clients (up to $500), the upwork commission is 20%. After earning $500 or more, the commission is reduced to 10%. Am I right in thinking that in order to switch to a new commission, you need to close the current contract (which earned more than $500) and open a new one? Commission cannot be changed from 20% to 10% on an existing contract?

Or maybe?

Maybe it will change. It depends on the client, it is not tied to a specific task, the contract can not be closed. Personally, I noticed that this does not happen instantly, but with a slight delay, so maybe just arm yourself with patience?)

There are also corporate clients - for example, Mictorsoft, Indesign, AirBnb .... - there are completely separate tax rates. I worked with this, in my case they only charged the bank commission for SWIFT.
