How to study at a university, so as not to regret the lost time later?

Entered to study "Applied Informatics". I don't go to school right after school. How to study in such a way that after graduation from the university you will not be without a job? And do not regret the lost time. To have work experience. Is it possible to find an internship remotely? As I understand it, you need to try to develop and participate in projects from the very beginning. Who has already studied, what do you regret, what did you not do?

You need to understand: what you like, what is your interest in the chosen specialty.
Analysts who own statistical methods of analysis are in great demand now. If you like math and statistics. That is a very good direction. Salaries are 200-400tr.
If you go to the developers, it is very useful to study algorithms well and master the modern development tool. I don't know how universities now give subjects. But usually universities are cut off from the industry. Therefore, it is better to study fundamental knowledge at a university. And various practices to study independently or on internships. It's very helpful to start developing your projects on your own and join the open source community and contribute as much as you can. It is important to know English - the minimum is reading the documentation without a dictionary. Well, if there is a spoken language, then you can count on working in international or foreign companies. Or consider immigrating. To understand how the industry lives - you need to look at vacancies and look at the requirements in vacancies - all the terms there must be clear and they must be studied. Understandably, that there are exotic things - it is useful to look at them for the horizon. But after reading a dozen other vacancies - the backbone of the requirements for candidates quickly becomes clear - and it definitely needs to be mastered. It is also useful to watch video recordings of speeches at conferences. From the third year, you can start working somewhere or practice part-time. You can solve test tasks from Yandex in vacancies or similar from other companies to understand the level of complexity and practice. From a career point of view, I recommend trying to get into well-known companies for a job or an internship - working in well-known companies is like fives in the test book - then they help your career. There are certification programs for professionals. There are trainings and tests for these programs. It is useful to pass such tests. A resume should be compiled correctly - look at the resumes on the websites of colleagues or contact a knowledgeable personnel officer for help. For a good career, it is still important to have a specialized education, especially in near state corporations. Now in IT there is a high demand everywhere - therefore it is difficult for a competent specialist and graduate to remain without work.
Therefore, the plan is this: study at a university and independent education, practice. Then work to gain experience. Experienced and educated are waiting for success and good salaries.

Go to classes, do labs - delve into the material yourself. If -> The material is fresh and worthwhile. Or at least gives a base from which it will be possible to understand "everything new". For often a lot of standards and principles of work remain the same, only crutches and external appearance change.
If everything is very sad at the university (as many people say), then I don’t even know, just sit out the time, skip couples (for the sake of a piece of paper) and at this time study on my own. Although in any case, at least half of the items should always be adequate. By type of mathematics, computer architecture, etc.
- But as practice shows, that a huge number of whiners are often people who were waiting for mountains of gold and that they will put everything ready on a silver platter in their mouths (like at school), and then bang - and they are faced with harsh realities, that at the university no one will lisp with them and either a person wants to study and studies or wastes his time in vain.
Even in a German university, where everything is perfectly arranged and they serve mostly the right material, I constantly met such whiners. One generally issued somehow leaving the university, - "I thought I would program, but here all sorts of it-security, yes mathematics."
In short: University = as a rule it is 70-80% of the theoretical part. The rest of the practice and this big drawback you have to fill "yourself". Practice, work, books, my projects. Just go to couples and that's it, it's just the same for the most part = waste of time.

Even in the spring, it is mandatory to start looking for an internship for the summer. Even better, if you can get somewhere part-time.

The most important thing is, in addition to the university, to gain knowledge on your own. The university provides only theory. Practice more at home.
