How to stop being afraid of serious projects?

I still can't force myself to take on serious web development projects, if the cost of development rises above 50 tr, internal self-doubt appears. Previous developments at the level of www.aquaphotostudio.ru/ (my development).
How to force yourself to step to the next level?

Guys, well, you give) Try, try, but have you thought about the customer? Does he want to be hired to try? I think he is waiting for a concrete result, and not "suddenly turn out."
First of all, a serious project requires a serious approach, 50t.r. this is not to say that a large project, but since you wrote - above, I would like to advise you to at least assemble a team or connect to an existing one. It’s at least difficult for one big project to take on, the point is not that you won’t be able to write, if your head is on your shoulders you can, the question is how much time it will take you and how many mistakes will be made. Team development is good because in a large project you need to think a lot at the beginning and have good endurance during implementation.
The most obvious facts to consider:
1. Do you take work for what period of time? How much you get tired, how much you rest. Estimate your labor costs and see if you can pull out 2-3 months of work on one project.
2. Many programmers, including me, are creative people, sometimes they get tired of doing the same project, for this you need at least 1 person who can replace and help with the routine process of writing code.
3. As already mentioned above, design is the most important thing in a large project, and often large projects affect completely different areas, be it telecommunications or trade, where you need to have certain knowledge in this area, usually for this they attract a person who already has experience in this particular area at least for piece work until there is a clear view of the entire system.

If, without prejudice, your professional skills allow you to implement a project, feel free to take on it. Any experience in working on a large project will be positive for you.

participate at least once?

Is it really necessary? Open Calc and carefully calculate which projects are more profitable to implement, based not on absolute numbers, but on relative ones. The larger and more expensive the project, the more time is required both for implementation and for many approvals, additions and changes.

Many small projects are better than one big one. This is my IMHO, so taking on large and large projects is not always good, in the process a bunch of pitfalls, nuances will come out, everything can drag on for a long time, while no one will pay more money, unless, of course, this is not in the technical specification or was not initially negotiated (hourly pay, etc.).
But if you really want to do something global, come up with a project for your soul, and make a huge beast out of it, slowly finishing it and inventing new modules and chips for it.
Throw it in your portfolio and customers will reach out to you, and you will already know that there is something behind you, and you will feel more confident.

just take part in a big project, but as a team member, you will have experience working on a big project, but less responsibility

You definitely need to participate once, in fact, one big project (roughly speaking) is equivalent to several different small ones. This is most likely a simple jitters before the first time, you just need to take a step ... Well, of course, you need to have certain skills =)

Now I’m thinking and remembering how I was given the first big project. Maybe this will be just the right option for you. It all started with a simple interest, a great idea came up, but it seemed to me very unrealistic for one person, but there was no money to hire someone and it was decided to drop all the cases and start implementing it alone. I spent more than 3 months, the work can be said seven days a week, without the slightest income, helped by the money earned and set aside in advance. My only incentive is my own project that will bring money. Then this project was rewritten 3 times. Twice we corresponded with the programmers who were part of my staff. Here is such a story. I would be glad if someone is just as lucky, he will endure and get another good profit.

Just try. No matter how you motivate yourself, in any case, the next step will be exactly the step. So walk with confidence!

Do you want to be a serious performer? Then choose and accept serious projects, you don’t have to sit in one place, you need to move forward.

Add in stages.
For example, after several times increasing by 25-30%

Get more very small projects.
So that you are strongly pestered by customers every day (daily, weekly, monthly).
Then you yourself will understand that it is time to be smaller, but larger.
In the meantime, IMHO, early.

Unite and join the open source teams, both at the initial stage and already at the expansion stages of the project.
