How to start programming in Vala?

What do you need to have to start programming on Vala? I have not yet met people who write something in Vala. I would very much like to know such people, get to know each other and find out what needs to be installed first. In Google, alas, I found all sorts of nonsense, as a result, I clogged the system with packages.

Somehow I managed a bug in Venom (GUI for Tox on Vala). As a result, the project stalled, because. another project was chosen as the official guyovina. Before that, only Hello World was written on Vala. So look for interesting Vala-projects, take on the task according to your strength and go for it.
And you only need to install vala (and gcc, if it doesn’t pull up in the dependencies).
