Try clearing your desktop icon cache.
The icon cache is stored in the C:\Users\[User]\AppData\Local\IconCache.db file. It must be removed and the system rebooted. However, there is a way to avoid rebooting:
You need to close the Explorer.exe process responsible for the desktop shell: open the Start menu, hold down Ctrl + Shift, right-click in the free space of the Start menu, in the context menu that appears, select "Exit Explorer ".
Launch Task Manager by pressing Ctrl+Shift+Esc.
Select File -> New Task -> cmd.exe -> Ok.
Enter the commands one by one in the window that appears:
cd /d %userprofile%\AppData\Local
del IconCache.db
explorer.exe
