How to solve problems with Ubuntu 16.04?

I have been using it for several years, Ubuntu (Unity)but recently terrible glitches have begun (after the update).
Doesn't wake up, just hangs, desktop environment crashes! It is installed without problems, before updating through sudo apt-get update/upgradeor synapticit works fine, but after that problems begin, and if you install the update during installation, the problems begin immediately!
I put it on several different machines (the problems are the same)

  1. Acer aspire v3-571g
  2. Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 i5 4200M

I share the space (Ubuntu is the only OS on the computer):
  • root-20gb
  • home - 70gb
  • swap - 2 times more RAM

Installed on a fully formatted HDD.
How to deal with this?
Maybe I'm not the only one with such problems with Ubuntu 16.04.01?
Is it worth going back to Ubuntu 14.04? Or even change the OS (if so, advise the most stable and reliable)?

@SicYar

After a month of use, 16 returned to 14.04. The problems were similar, I did not like the stability. So far I'm using 14.04 and I don't think I'll switch soon.
PS the same garbage with the server ubuntu. 14 is much more stable.

I would advise you to switch to debian.
