How to slice by time in Excel?
I have been keeping records of my cows in the table for 3 years now. During this time, I have identified cows that are well calved, normal and super productive.
I want to find out the calf exit rate. To do this, I need to know the number of cows for the period.
I need to know what the coefficient was in 2018, 2019 and 2020. And in order to select cows that are part of the reproductive group, that is, older than 20 months, I need to somehow select from these animals that since January 1, 2018 were aged 20 months or more. As well as those who were alive at that time.
How to do it in Excel?

The simplest thing is to add columns to the data with indicators by which you will filter out - age, alive or not. Then you make a filter on the data, and manually summarize the result. As I understand it, this is a "one-time" or infrequent operation, so it's easier than making a monster formula. Although in the same Google tables there are the same slices, and the FILTER () function, and even more universal QUERY ()
Well, or use SUMIFS () with conditions - by date, age and column alive / dead.
Make a pivot table and add a slice through the menu "Insert" -> "Timeline".
As another option, place the cursor on the pivot table and add it via the "Analysis" -> "Insert Timeline" menu.
PS For the timeline to exist, you need a connection - a pivot table, a connection to external data, etc. Without them, adding a timeline will not work.
