How to simulate keyboard keystrokes with data from a serial port?

Good afternoon.
There is a card reader connected via a serial port (/dev/ttyS7).
When it reads a card, it simply writes its data to the port.
The task is to make this card reader seem to be in keyboard emulation mode. How can I do that?
I have ubuntu, but I think it's not very important.
Thank you.

I understand that the principle of operation of the card reader is similar to a barcode scanner. So google:
