How to simulate bold text?
I have some text that has a bold font. But there is no built-in bold in this font, so in order to create a PDF document with bold text, bold has to be simulated (or emulated, it doesn’t matter) by drawing a letter boundary line (more simply, a stroke) with the following syntax - 2 Tr desired_line_size w
In the resulting PDF file, the text is really bold, but the problem is that this document does not pass any A format validation checks. Interestingly, even if the line width is set to 0 - i.e. do not stroke at all, validators will still throw a glyph width error. It is also worth mentioning that, for example, in the Microsoft Sans Serif font, validators do not swear at all capital letters, but only at a part (large). The number of small letters simulated in this way is actually two. Why is this happening? Are there other ways to simulate bold text so that the final file passes the validation check?
