How to share usb port via internet (3 questions)?
Recommend a solution. We have a rather expensive camera, the computer sees it as a usb webcam, but it streams in 4k format. we want to place it quite far from the computer that communicates with it. The first thing that came to my mind was to use:
Rasberi Pi, but 3 questions:
1) will it pull? Then what's the replacement?
2) What system to install - obviously linux, which distribution?
3) How to share a usb port via the Internet - I would like to work with it all the same as with a webcam - since I write software for it and is it convenient?

Most likely your option with "forwarding USB" is not an option. Try the solution, like on IoT devices. Forwarding is not a port, but a stream that the camera broadcasts.

But it won't take off. 3840 * 2180 * 24 frames/s * 3 bytes = 574.80 MB/s
If we talk about USB forwarding, I would look in the direction of such a bundle, but I'm not sure if it will work or not, I need to try: a router with a usb port + OpenWRT + usbip.
Another option is TP-Link TL-PS310U.
The device is compatible with most printers and multifunction printers on the market and allows you to share and manage these devices from computers connected to your network. The device can also connect and operate up to 4 USB-based devices such as scanners, flash memory cards, speakers or webcams using a USB dock connected to the server. These devices will be accessible from anywhere on the network and even wirelessly if the print server is connected to a wireless router.
May I know the model of the camera?
"I think it was a comedy, Bealey." If this is indeed an uber device, then its task is to stream the stream through a router that has 3.0 on board (and what else to eat from it, it’s stylish, fashionable and youthful, you can follow the hoverboard in the hallway). And if a normal device with 4k resolution (it is not known which matrix), then you lock it and twist it, maybe it will "fart" through the RG-45 uplink
