How to set up webnames to work with heroku?

There are a couple of sites on heroku that have worked fine for the time being with both www and non-www webnames. But at one point (presumably on August 5th) something changed either on the side of heroku or webnames - and access without www stopped.
For example, www.sagasaga.net works, but sagasaga.net doesn't work.
www.ussroutes.com works, but ussroutes.com does not.
The rules are configured as follows:
Subdomain/Service Class Address
@ A 184.72.241.146
* A 184.72.241.146
www CNAME activitiesaga.herokuapp.com.
What to do? Help advice..

Nothing has changed for webnames, see the heroku side.
