How to set up VirtualBox networking?

Given:
host: windows 7
guest: debian wheezy
I spin through virtualbox.

Debian

Nginx is running on port 80. I feel something is wrong with the network - I can neither open the site on the host, nor connect via ftp / ssh.
CHADNT?

In general, I installed VMWare Player. Everything works perfectly out of the box, no need to reconfigure. Recommend.

Try changing NAT to Bridged, the guest's network will become the same member of the external network as your host - there should be no problems in this situation.

You need the guest network type "Host-only networking" instead of NAT.
https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch06.html#networ...

Host-only networking
This can be used to create a network containing the host and a set of virtual machines, without the need for the host's physical network interface. Instead, a virtual network interface (similar to a loopback interface) is created on the host, providing connectivity among virtual machines and the host.
