How to set up the DADF-AB1 automatic document feeder on Canon 2520?

Hello! Faced with the replacement of a conventional cover with an automatic feeder. After installation, the machine does not respond when paper is inserted into the tray. Maybe in addition to the physical connection, you need to configure something else? Has anyone come across?
