How to set up sound output on Asus Z99?
Recently I received a half-killed laptop Asus Z99 (Intel Celeron M CPU 520 @ 1.60GHz) with a torn off display, I thought to use it in tandem with an external monitor, but I managed to "sew" the display. Installed Runtu lite. Everything works except the sound. Help set up.
Installed Ubuntu 12.10 and 14.04, still live 14.10, no sound. Before me, there was Win-XP, the sound worked, but everything slowed down, so I installed Linux.
In lshw, the laptop model is listed as A8He, on the laptop case as Z99H. There is only a dummy output in the sound settings. There are two items in alsamixer and . Initially there were [MM], turned on [00], no changes. In the players, the music seems to be playing, the progress bar is on, but without sound.
Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version k3.13.0-44-generic.
