How to set up page address hierarchy in Mod X Rev?

There was a problem with the site on Mod X Revolution. The site has a menu consisting of pages:
site/page1.html , site/page2.html, etc. These pages have subpages: site/ page1.html
/subpage , site/page2.htm/subpage
page1.html/subpage to site/page2.html opens site/page1.html/page2.html instead of site/page2.html, i.e. we stay in the same folder and not a level up in the hierarchy.
How to set up the right transitions? Thank you.

From the question it is not entirely clear what is wrong in the paths.
Make sure Friendly URLs are enabled and see nesting in categories.

when moving from a nested page to another, which is higher level, the link is written through a slash at the current level and not to the level above, as it should
