How to set up Mitmproxy?

Installed Ubuntu in VMware, and it has a BIND DNS server. I also installed Mitmproxy to analyze HTTP traffic.
Now on the PC in the browser settings I specify the proxy and in the virtual machine I listen to port 8080. Everything is fine, I look at the packages, edit them ... BUT! when I delete a proxy on the PC and set the address of the DNS server that is on the virtual machine in the settings, then Mitmproxy does not show packets, what am I doing wrong? tcpdump in this case shows all traffic normally, but mitmproxy does not. Maybe there is another port to specify. Help and don't kick me too hard, I'm a noob.

And why on earth should it show them if mitmproxy is an HTTP proxy, and DNS is a completely different protocol, and even on UDP (usually) 53. It simply does not catch this traffic, it does not go through it.
