LinkedIn supports localhost quite well , including valid addresses with a port number. I don’t see such errors myself, even with OAuth 1.0a .
OAuth v1.0 is hellishly complex. In addition, it has long been outdated and will most likely be disabled in the future. It is better to use the second version.
The error message is strange, just like in the browser console window :-) If the problem is with the site, you can try updating the cache, kicking the antivirus or changing the browser (disable any extensions).
Alternatively, you can use an intermediate server with a normal domain, which will redirect everything to where you need it. An example can be found here (in the page code).
