How to set up k2pdfopt?

Hello everybody!

My question is the following.
I am trying to change the pages in a pdf document for easy reading on my kindle. To do this, I use the k2pdfopt utility.

You can see that chapter 1.7 (Inverse Kinematics) breaks the page in two. The text of chapter 1.6 goes from the top of the first column to the top of the second.
But we understand this. But I could not explain this to k2pdfopt. Maybe someone can help with this?

Yesterday I used this software for the first time. I wanted to read a scanned book on the Kindle - but it didn’t work out. In some places 1 word on the whole page. I scored on all this - I'd better buy either a paper version, or Onyx Boox 9 inch.
