How to set up HDMI audio support on Wintel Box CX-W8 in Linux?
Hello everybody. For several days I have been trying to install Linux normally on Wintel BOX CX-W8 . I solved all the questions I needed, with the exception of one - sound via HDMI.
Checked different distributions - Ubuntu 14.04, 14.10, 15.04, LinuxMint 17.1 - settled on Ubuntu 14.10.
I collected the latest kernel (3.19.x). I am not strong in the details of building kernels, so I just tried the "make allyesconfig" and "make olddefconfig" modes.
Collected and installed from the source of the driver from the site 01.org.
None of this worked for me to get the audio devices detected.
Command: alpay -l
Gives "no soundcards found...".
I ask you to help determine whether it is possible to configure audio output via HDMI on this device at all?
