How to set up external access (from the Internet) to Openserver on a VmWare virtual machine?
We have a WMWare host and virtual machine, both Win 10. The
provider issues a dynamic ip, the TPlink router creates a network (LAN) by assigning an IP 192.168.116.100 to the host machine adapter.
For a static address, we use no-ip, we get a link like domain.no-ip.com, in the router settings redirect to the virtual server 192.168.116.100, and enable dynamic DNS (no-ip),
OpenServer is running on the host machine, there are 2 Alias:
192.168.116.100 | <virtual server root folder>
domain.no-ip.com | <virtual server root folder> the
server is accessible from the outside via domain.no-ip.com, and via 192.168.116.100 only inside 192.168.116.*
The task is to locate the server not on the host, but on the vmware virtual machine, which has network connection settings: NAT.
IP of the virtual network adapter VmWare (
Vmnet8
) 192.168.116.1 (through which NAT is performed)
IP of the virtual network adapter of the virtual machine 192.168.116.129 .116.129 | <virtual server root folder>
domain.no-ip.com | <virtual server root folder>
Bottom line: the server is available at 192.168.116.129 both from the virtual machine and from the host machine.
And at the address domain.no-ip.com, it opens in the browser only of the virtual machine, but is not accessible from the host and external Internet
It seems that the problem is in the place where instead of one network adapter of the host machine with IP 192.168.116.100, 2 vmware virtual adapters are used with IP 192.168.116.1 (visible in the host), IP 192.168.116.129 (visible inside the virtual machine)
At a dead end, tell me in which side to look at?
