How to set up emmet?

I ran into this problem while working. Sometimes I print an abbreviation of the code, but I don’t expand it, I don’t press tab, but I take the cursor to another line, after which after some time I return to the line where the abbreviation was written and press tab, but the code does not expand and I have to retype the last two characters, which very inconvenient to work.
Can anything be done about it?)
