You have a DNS provider on your computer or router. And they must be local. This is usually done through hosts or third-party software. On household routers, I have not seen such opportunities.
Bind won't help you here.
The question " How to make it open at home.lan " needs clarification - from which place "to open"? The fact is that the "normal / white" DNS system is designed in such a way that from all normally configured clients there are links leading along the chain to the root servers; and from the root servers there are links to the DNS servers for each zone, also along the chain.
And with self-assigned zones like "lan" - there is no chain from the root servers. Typically, such zones are located on a server that is in the chain of links from clients to root servers. However, you have Ubuntu - in a virtual machine, i.e. m.b. turned off, and then access to normal sites will not work well.
There are several schemes how to organize it. And everyone has flaws.
PS: Check out the nslookup and dig utilities to analyze DNS performance.
Just change your names and addresses.
In the router, in the DHCP options, put only your DNS address.
For mobile phones, this can be finished.
