How to set up broadcasting on the local network?
I decided to make a video broadcast on the local network, something like a mini-TV channel. The channel consists mainly of slideshows and videos. Now it works like this: OBS Studio streams to an rtmp server (nginx on a virtual machine), VLC converts the rtmp stream from the server into an http stream in mkv format, which is already played in the browser (in html5 video).
The problem is that in the browser the stream is played with constant crashes and delays, despite the fact that all this happens on a gigabit network and the video resolution is very low (640x480). I tried to change the video format to asx, ogg and mp4, but the streams in these formats are not played by the browser at all. Experimentally established that the problem is somehow related to VLC, although a large video buffer is installed in it and the video processor is not overloaded. What can be done in this situation? Maybe it's worth changing the whole translation scheme?
