How to set up automatic change of permissions for folders and files?

There is a folder /var/www/site
Rights to this folder and its contents: nginx:nginx. For files - 644, for folders - 755. The
user stas also has rights to this folder, who regularly deploys new versions of the site there:
setfacl -R -m default:user:stas:rwx /var/www/site
QUESTION:
How to make sure that all files and folders that stas copies to the /var/www/site folder automatically have nginx:nginx permissions?
How correct is this approach to setting rights?
