How to set up authorization in Google Maps using the OAuth 2.0 protocol?

I decided to implement access to user resources on Google Maps using the OAuth 2.0 protocol in my Android application. This is new for me, I don’t know where to start, I didn’t find any sensible examples, but maybe I was looking badly, so I decided to ask a question.
I stumbled upon Google Maps Engine , but I have a suspicion that this is a bit not what I need, and GME support will close soon, so this does not suit me.
