How to set up an SSL connection to MySQL?

I use my computer as a database server (Windows). For some reason, from the MySQL documentation, I realized that the database can generate everything itself, I tried to specify Sslmode in the connection string, but to no avail, because my host does not support this connection. Is there a manual, an overview on how to set up an SSL connection to the database?
