Hello. I want to create my own small hosting for my clients. I tried to install LAMP and configure according to the article on Habré , but some tips from there do not work. For example, the php system functions still work for me and php itself can "get out" where it doesn't need to.
My goal is this: I want to set up a secure and optimal performance web server.

Give advice, in which direction to dig? I searched on the Internet, but everything is not there. I would be grateful if you send examples or links to articles.

Apache+PHP-FPM. Each site (php-fpm pool) should be run as a separate user.
In your case, it is better to set up the Fastpanel control panel
