VPS Ubuntu 12.04
NGINX
MySQL (+ phpMyAdmin)
main 2nd level
domain Several 3rd level domains
Necessary:
Set up mail on the 2nd level domain, thereby not dropping its current performance.
I tried PostFix, eventually broke access to the domain, I was hard at restoring.

Try exim =) It can also receive mail.
But in general, installing a mailman should not break the entire system, if there is no other mail server there.
If you just want mail - link the domain to Yandex or Google mail - they have similar services.
