How to set up a conversion in Google Analytics 4?

Good day. I'm having a problem setting up goals in Google Analytics 4 (GA4). As far as I understand, work is already underway there with conversions. Most likely, I just didn’t understand how to do it right, but now I’m trying to track the purchase, more precisely, clicking on the button with the id - place_order. I do this: from the main page, on the side menu, go to "Configuration" -> "Events" -> Create an event, where I specify the Name of the special event "Purchase", then Match conditions: Parameter-item_id, Operator-equals, Value-place_order. After that, I saved it and sent a test order. I tried several times, but nothing happens. How to track conversions in GA4, please tell me?
