How to set up a color profile on a monitor connected to a macbook?

At work, I connected the monitor to the MacBook, but the display was with a decent red tint. Then he rebuilt it through the calibrator in the poppy. It got better, but it is very dark despite 100% brightness and contrast (in the calibrator it was necessary to set it like that). The adapter is not original. Could it be because of him? Buy a new monitor? Please advise something else

Most of all, it looks like one channel is physically knocked out somewhere (perhaps on a connecting cable or adapter, if, of course, the image is transmitted via analog DVI or VGA through the adapter), and if it is transmitted digitally, then somewhere at the connection point matrices.
