the behavior of objects is similar to game mechanics, movement, interaction with other objects, reaction to user actions, I would dig towards the implementation on canvas and requestAnimationFrame. Perhaps some game engines are suitable.

Something close is https://vincentgarreau.com/particles.js/ there's a lot to do there. At a minimum, so that mugs with pictures float and you can interact with them. Right here in the panel on the right you can configure, but you still have to program a little.

It should turn on when the OS starts up. But you must select two screens in the settings.
