How to set default language for wordpress plugin?

I'm making a multilingual plugin for Wordpress. I put all the texts in Lang-files and everything works in English and Russian, but if you change the interface language, say, to Chinese (and I don’t have a translation for it), then not an English translation appears, but just variables. How to set the "default" language in such a case?

They did something wrong.
If in php files in the translation function, for example __(), English text, then when changing the language and not finding localization, WordPress will display them in English.
