How to set a keyboard shortcut for a dash on Windows 10?

I know about the key combination Alt + series on the numeric keypad.
But, firstly, this combination is terribly uncomfortable. Secondly, I do not have a numeric keypad, because I use laptops exclusively.
I'm interested in the question of whether it is possible to assign an insertion to a dash in some other way, for example, something like Fn + Alt + -
Or Win + -
This is ideal.
Copying every time from the symbol table to the clipboard is not an option. You need exactly the keyboard shortcut that works even without the side number pad.

Punto Switcher - heavy artillery - has an auto-change function that is manually configured.
For example, you can set double hyphens "--" to be replaced by en dashes "—" and double quotes """" to opening and closing herringbone quotes, with the cursor automatically wrapping between them. In addition, you can add abbreviations for the speed dial of the mail address: replace [email protected] with [email protected] Well, everything in this spirit. The more often you have to work with repeating text elements and the more they are used, the more it justifies spending resources on Punto Switcher. If you are only interested in dashes, then I think it will be redundant.

With the help of AutoHotkey : for example, I use an autocorrect string for this purpose ( obsolete translation ), changing " --" to " ":
(AutoHotkey allows you to achieve the goal using a keyboard shortcut ...) In the AkelPad
text editor with the Hotkeys plugin, you can assign to any combination key command (of course, only for the AkelPad itself). Insert("—")
