How to set a high resolution when connecting a monitor through the display port (DP)?

An nVIDIA 1060 video card, a monitor was connected to it in the HDMI port, via an HDMI adapter, on the monitor itself - VGA (D-SUB). I bought a VGA-DisplayPort adapter, connected it - the maximum resolution was 1280 * 1024, but it was 1440 * 900, what should I do? At the same time, having connected a second monitor via HDMI - a resolution of 1920 * 1080 - everything is perfect, but I don’t know what to do with 1 monitor.

The switch is to blame. Because VGA is an analog interface while dp and hdmi are digital. What does the adapter do with the signal - straight xs.
In general, VGA is already such an antiquity, where do you get them then ...
