How to separate genres for movies, series, cartoons and anime?

There is a site dedicated to cinema, which has ~23,000 films, series, cartoons and anime. There is a dropdown menu with genres. The problem is that for movies, TV shows, cartoons and anime, the menu is the same. Now there is a need to divide these four among themselves.
Question: how to do this painlessly for the nervous system and without total restructuring?

duplicate the table, link series to the old one, movies to the new one, or vice versa, and then edit as needed.
