How to separate a group of users from the rest?

Hello! I want to conduct an experiment on the site, of this kind: pagination works on the site (normal pagination with page numbers). I want to separate some of the users and make them infinite scroll (pages are loaded via AJAX while scrolling). I need to find out how this affects the metrics (views per visitor, time on site, etc.) for this user group.
Is it possible? Maybe you need to add some parameter to the links? Or is it enough to have some kind of global variable that would be visible in the metric?

You can conduct A/B testing of pages using the Visit settings in Yandex.Metrica. Set a separate parameter for a group of users and then build statistics on it in reports.
